Description of Services : Dr. Adams received his B.A. in psychology from Arizona State University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Barrett Honors College. He received his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Brigham Young University after completing his pre-doctoral internship at the Community Reach Center in the Denver, Colorado metropolitan area. He spent many years working in private practice, community mental health and residential and wilderness treatment. He has over 18,000 hours of therapeutic experience over the last 17 years and has completed over 1700 comprehensive psychological evaluations of adults and children. He is well- versed in all major psychological assessment tools.Throughout his career, he has specialized in counseling and assessment of adults, children, adolescents, and families. His vast clinical experience with parents and at- risk youth comes from his time as a consulting psychologist to wilderness and residential treatment programs, as a staff psychologist in a large state hospital mental health system, in outpatient therapeutic practice, working in community mental health, and working with at-risk youth in a court associated program with adjudicated youth and their parents. Parents and youth regularly commented that the success of their change process was greatly aided by Dr. Adams' expertise and gentle demeanor.
