NATSAP Joins National Mental Health Community to Support FY26 Suicide Prevention and Crisis Response Report Language

The National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP) was invited by Active Minds to join a coalition of 72 leading mental health organizations in signing a joint letter urging Congress to include bipartisan, no-cost report language in the FY26 Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations Bill. Alongside organizations such as the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the National Alliance on Mental Illness, NATSAP signed on to support provisions would strengthen awareness of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and prioritize early intervention through the Garrett Lee Smith Youth Suicide Prevention Campus Grants.

By signing on to this joint letter, NATSAP reaffirms our unwavering commitment to elevating youth mental health on the national stage. This letter urges Congress to expand access to life-saving crisis response systems and support peer-led, evidence-based prevention strategies on high school, vocational, and college campuses.

We are thrilled to be deepening our role in federal mental health advocacy. NATSAP is actively amplifying its presence in Washington, working to ensure that the therapeutic schools and programs we represent are part of the broader solution to America’s youth mental health crisis.

Stay tuned for more updates on how we’re growing our advocacy work to support students, families, and the professionals who serve them.
