Heartspring earns Three-Year Accreditation from CARF International for its Residential Program in its Therapeutic School

We Are NATSAP

Heartspring earned a Three-Year Accreditation from CARF International in July for its Pediatric Outpatient Clinic and Residential Program within its Therapeutic School.

A Three-Year Accreditation is the highest level of accreditation CARF International can give an organization and shows Heartspring’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards. Organizations receiving a Three-Year Accreditation have gone through a rigorous peer-review process. During an on-site visit, Heartspring demonstrated to a team of surveyors its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.

“This accreditation strengthens our trust with families and supports our reputation as experts in our field,” said Moniqueka Holloway, Heartspring’s Chief Compliance Officer and Executive Director of its Therapeutic School. “CARF accreditation promises to be one of many milestones as we continue to build our organization for leadership in pediatric neurodevelopment.”

Heartspring’s Therapeutic Residential School is co-educational and provides special education optimized for children with neurodevelopmental disorders. Our approach integrates evidence-based therapies with innovative support models so students build communication, social and self-care skills alongside their education.

Students at Heartspring’s Therapeutic School have a diagnosed Neurodevelopmental Disorder (NDD). Most often, this is Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or and an Intellectual/Developmental Disability, but includes other Neurodevelopmental Disorders. Heartspring is currently accepting girls and boys ages 10-18.

Heartspring is a leader in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ACC) device assessments and use with a full-time Ph.D.-level Speech-Language Pathologist on site. The majority of our students use some type of ACC system, developing their ability to express and meet needs productively.

Heartspring does not serve students with a primary diagnosis of a psychiatric condition, students with behaviors such as suicidal and homicidal attempts or ideations, a history of using weapons, fire-setting, cruelty to animals, sexually aggressive behaviors, or the ability to pre-plan violent behaviors or target peers.

Located in Wichita KS, Heartspring is unique for its sprawling 38-acre fenced campus that allows students safe outdoor spaces with the freedom to walk, bike and have fun on the adaptive playground. Private bedrooms are individualized to students’ sensory needs and capabilities, enhancing comfort, safety and skill development. Robust extracurricular programs, such as adapted physical education, art, music and vocational opportunities round out our students’ experiences.
