Mike Hench Celebrates 10 Years at ATC

We Are NATSAP

On October 18, 2014 Mike hung up his sleeping bag and hiking boots in the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument as a wilderness therapist and took a shot at working indoors with At the Crossroads in St. George, UT. Ten years later Mike continues to build what has become one of the longest standing young adult transitional living programs in the industry. Along with Mike's leadership the clinical team at ATC also includes Kade Mathews, Ryan Forbes, and Kelly Bawden; each of whom boast over 20 years in the field! Mike still loves the flexibility his job offers and is a firm believer of getting off the couch and outdoors. Sitting in an office all day was never the plan when he signed up as a therapist. Mike may not spend his time sitting out with clients around a campfire but you can find him doing therapy in a coffee shop, sitting on some red cliffs over looking St. George, or on rocking chairs on the front porch of one of ATC's four residences. Just last week Mike was whipping across a 600 foot zipline, climbing cliffs, and rappelling down canyons with clients. Thanks Mike for your years of service at ATC and here's looking forward to what the next decade has in store!
