My name is Marisa and I am a former residential treatment kid. 18 years ago, my parents made the hardest and most impactful decision of my life. They chose to send me to a wilderness program and residential treatment center after many years of struggles with my self esteem, co-dependency, consistent lying and challenging behaviors. To this day, I believe this was the best decision for me and ultimately gave me the chance to live my best life. I am happy to say that because of this experience, I now work in the same field, at a residential treatment center where I get to help other struggling students find their best self and give them a chance to be happy and successful in their own life. I believe that going to treatment, while it was one of the hardest things I have ever experienced, gave me a chance to find myself and changed the direction my life was headed. I know for a fact that I would not be where I am today without my treatment experience and am proud to have the chance to offer the same hope to other students that are struggling.
