Bridging Gaps in Adolescent Addiction Treatment: NATSAP Applauds NIH-Supported Study

NATSAP is thrilled to share insights from a recent NIH-supported study shedding light on challenges in adolescent addiction treatment. Published in Health Affairs, the study highlights challenges in adolescent residential addiction facilities for adolescents.

The study, led by researchers at OHSU and supported by NIH's NIDA and NCATS, highlights key findings. Only 54% of facilities had an immediately available bed, with a 28-day average wait time for waitlisted patients. The daily treatment cost averaged $878, with a quoted monthly stay exceeding $26,000.
