NATSAP to Monitor Supreme Court Review of Transgender Athlete Bans

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear appeals related to state-level bans on transgender students participating in school sports. While NATSAP does not take a position on pending litigation, we recognize that such high-profile cases have implications for youth mental health and access to affirming environments.

Every young person deserves to be seen, supported, and valued. At NATSAP, we are committed to fostering environments where all youth—including LGBTQIA+ youth—feel safe, affirmed, and cared for. Mental health and belonging go hand in hand. We will always advocate for treatment spaces rooted in compassion, inclusion, and respect. As part of our ongoing policy monitoring efforts, NATSAP will track developments in these cases and assess any potential impact on therapeutic programs serving LGBTQIA+ youth. Our commitment remains grounded in supporting environments where all young people feel safe, valued, and supported in their journey toward healing.

NATSAP will provide updates as relevant rulings emerge.
