About
Confluence brings together a unique blend of clinical services, wellness programming and experiential interventions to unlock an individual's potential to heal, change, and grow. Our mission is to foster a supportive and challenging environment where young adults can build insight, motivation and skills to pursue meaningful goals. This whole-person health approach draws out the resilience and focus from young adults to overcome challenges that have kept them stuck. We are committed to providing high-quality mental health treatment in a safe and affirming setting where participants realize their fullest potential. Confluence is a state-licensed residential treatment program for young adults 18-28 years old who are experiencing mental health, emotional, relational, and substance use challenges. Set in the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont, our wilderness and horticultural programing draws on the health promoting value of outdoor experiences. Participants' interaction with the natural world encourages them to engage differently with their environment and in their relationships. This shift opens new opportunities to deepen emotional awareness, manage stress proactively, expand empathy, and build executive functioning skills. The foundation of Confluence is based on personalized treatment services. Each participant completes an initial comprehensive assessment and an individualized treatment plan. Weekly individual therapy sessions and daily group therapy assist participants in addressing treatment goals. Wellness programming focuses on nutrition, sleep, exercise, and mindfulness to encourage healthy daily habits. Wilderness excursions offer challenges that build resilience and improve self-esteem. Therapeutic horticulture nurtures calm, focus, and introspection. Family integration helps families best understand the challenges their young adult children are facing and to make changes that support improved relationships and better communication. These interventions are informed by individual treatment goals and are incorporated into each experience throughout the week. Together the process helps struggling young adults emerge, empowering action towards wellness, and leading lives of meaning and purpose.
