About
The Young Adult Comprehensive Assessment and Treatment (YA CAT) Program at the University of Utah Huntsman Mental Health Institute (HMHI), formerly the University Neuropsychiatric Institute (UNI), is a voluntary residential like facility located in Murray, UT approximately 20 minutes away from the freestanding psychiatric hospital. This assessment Program is a clinically sophisticated level of care designed to help gain an understanding of an individual's mental and behavioral health issues. We serve young adults ages 18-30 for an average of 4-8 weeks who have been treated unsuccessfully in the past, despite seeking numerous types of treatments and exhausting all resources or services within their community. Our team consists of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, expressive therapists, 24 hour nursing staff, registered dietitians and a career/vocational specialist who all work closely together to evaluate the individual, accurately identify diagnoses, and actively begin treatment.
