About
La Europa Academy is a clinically and academically intensive program designed to serve female adolescents from 14-17 years of age. We provide a treatment program that helps young women find themselves through creative expression while developing the skills they needs to overcome their current challenges. Therapy: At La Europa we offer a comprehensive and fully integrated DBT program to address complex clinical issues such as depression, bi-polar, anxiety, trauma, sexual abuse, drug and alcohol abuse, eating disorders, emerging personality disorder and other relational and emotional problems. Our Master's level therapists are all DBT trained and provide weekly individual and family sessions. La Europa also provides a second layer of clinical intervention with our expressive therapies. Students participate in expressive therapies groups with master's level, nationally board certified therapists four times per week. We offer art, music, dance/movement, sand try, psychodrama and therapeutic writing expressive therapy groups. Academics: At La Europa, our belief is that a strong and challenging academic program is an important component of helping our students heal, develop resiliency and competency and establish future direction. The academic component includes college-preparatory high school on site, traditional academic classrooms with direct instruction, full-time licensed teachers in all core subjects, and a full-time learning specialist and small class room sizes. Transition Support: La Europa provides a unique program component that offers an elevated level of transition support. When students reach a certain level in the program and are demonstrating successful skill generalization, they have the option to transition to Mosaic House in order to assess their readiness for the next step. Students who would not be appropriate for La Europa Academy are those with active psychosis, conduct disorder, aggressive behavior and criminal behavior or present a high run risk.
