About

NBI is an eight-bed supportive residential setting for adults (18+) typically diagnosed with severe/complex obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) or anxiety disorders, related conditions, and various other challenging psychological conditions or comorbidities who need more structure and life skills support than outpatient treatment alone can offer, but do not need to be in a hospital or other more restrictive setting. NBI Ranch is also a suitable environment for step-down from inpatient or other facilities. All NBI Ranch residents attend a nearby partial hospitalization program (PHP) or other level of treatment at the Neurobehavioral Institute (NBI) during weekdays; however, some residents may concurrently be engaged in work or educational experiences when appropriate. Transportation between NBI Ranch and NBI is provided; some residents may be able to bring their own vehicles, if desired. Length of stay at NBI Ranch generally ranges from one to several months. NBI Ranch has 24/7 awake residential counselors (RCs). NBI Ranch is designed to feel like a comfortable and warm home. RCs provide structure, support and encouragement, collect real time behavioral observations data, monitor how residents implement and generalize the strategies they are learning in treatment, accompany residents on community activities, and stay in close contact with NBI's clinical staff. Healthful meal plans and good eating habits are supported by consultations with a Registered Dietician. The mission of NBI Ranch is to be a place where those affected by OCD, anxiety disorders, and related conditions can appreciate and enjoy life beyond whatever symptoms and challenges they are presently experiencing and focus on developing the skills and personal resilience they will need to take the next positive steps in their journeys.
