About

PATH at Stone Summit is a small, 10-bed residential program located in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Our focus is on helping young adults transition from adolescence to adulthood. The program is psychodynamically based, offering individual therapy four times a week in the context of a homelike environment. Because most emerging adults struggle not only with self-understanding but also how to function effectively in their academics or burgeoning career, we also provide daily vocational counseling and skills-building groups. PATH offers three phases to residents: First, mentalizing and exploring themselves in the context of their history and dynamics while building skills by working in our home and/or our small farm; Second, once residents feel ready to practice these skills, they being working in our larger community while remaining in our residence and continuing therapy work. Our vocational counselor helps residents find volunteer jobs/internships, take college courses, or find paying positions within the community for approximately 10-15 hours per week; Third, as residents feel more stable and comfortable in their outside activity, we work with them to transition out of the house and back into home, school or community. The average stay at PATH is approximately six months.
