This year, Telos is celebrating 20 years. To date, we have helped over a thousand families find hope and healing, treating depression, anxiety, suicidality, executive function coaching needs, learning differences, and other important behavioral health issues. In recent months, there has been a flurry of innovation at Telos, resulting in some new offerings for youth throughout the nation as well as services for the local community here in Utah.

In November of 2023, Telos opened a small specialty setting called Carter House. This program specializes in adolescent boys needing a heavy dose of substance use recovery prior to engaging in their mental health treatment process. Carter House is named after a beloved alumni lost to an overdose, Carter Berardi. Our team is dedicated to helping other families avoid the tragedy of untreated addiction.

Like most programs, over the years, Telos has had to invite some students to leave. This usually occurs when a student’s clinical needs overshadow the staff resources available. This has always resulted in disillusionment and disappointment for students, families, and our staff. With this in mind, Telos has opened Geneva, a high-structure, semi-secure setting for students who have 1) struggled in other treatment settings or 2) simply need more support and structure than what our other settings can provide. Geneva has been a game-changer for students who are in danger of having their treatment process derailed by a need for additional support.

 
Finally, Telos has just opened a new Intensive Outpatient Program for the Utah Valley community. Specializing in anxiety, depression, and substance use recovery, Telos Mental Health is an evidence-based resource for people needing a more potent dose of help than can be found in traditional outpatient settings.

   
Telos has been characterized by industry-leading innovation throughout the past 20 years. Indeed, the Telos of last year is always different than the current Telos, and this is how it will always be. We are proud of our new clinical settings and are excited to offer a more comprehensive continuum of care.
